Arranging an assessment
Appointments are made through the hospital's outpatient line or through the appointment service. If you are travelling from outside Chongqing, say so when you book, because the examination and any pre-treatment tests can sometimes be arranged across fewer visits. You can also use the contact page on this site to ask a question before booking.
What to bring
Bring any previous orthodontic or jaw surgery records, a list of your current medicines and allergies, and the names of any conditions you are being treated for. If you have had filler or an implant in the chin or jaw before, note when and where, because it changes both the assessment and the plan. Profile photographs from earlier years are more useful than you would expect, because they show how the chin sat before it changed.
What happens at the consultation
Expect an examination rather than a presentation. The surgeon will look at the profile, check how the upper and lower teeth meet, assess the position of the nose and the lips alongside the chin, ask about growth and about when the change appeared, and take standardised photographs. You should leave knowing which of the three causes applies, whether treatment is justified, what it would cost you in recovery and risk, and what happens if you decide against it.
Asking a question without booking
Questions about the content of this site — including any correction you believe should be made to it — are welcome through the hospital's administration line. Clinical questions about your own case are best answered in person, and we will say so rather than guess.
